Silvia Zennaro della Compagnia della Vela di Venezia conquista il BRONZO al Campionato del Mondo 2012 svoltosi a L'Escala (ESP) dal 17 al 24 luglio.

La precedono sul podio la danese Anna Livbjerg (oro) e la svedese Anna Mikkelsen (argento).

Nella classifica maschile il primo degli italiani è Nicola Monti della Società Canottieri Lecco. Sul podio Gerard Marin (oro - ESP), Sylvain Notonier (argento - FRA), Nicholas Fadler Martinsen (bronzo - NOR).

With a 14th that was discarded and a partial fifth, Lars Johan Brodtkorb secured his lead during the Europe Class World Championship Open Week, held in L’Escala, Spain, this year, and was declared winner of the classification regatta and training round of the event with an eight point lead over Nicholas Fadler Martinsen, also from Norway. Third place on the podium went to Jon Diedrichs from Sweden. The trophy awarding ceremony was held at 7pm in the regatta village and recognised the top ten sailors in the ranking. Awards were also given to Martin F. Pedersen (SWE), Marcus Höglander (SWE), Neus Garriga (ESP), Rasmus Rosegren (SWE), Oscar Pantzare (SWE), Albert Codinachs (ESP) and Carl Fern (SWE).

The list of participants for the main event of the Europe Class World Championship has been extended to include 34 new spots, 24 awarded to the men’s category and 10 to the women’s category, with a total of 162 competitors aspiring for the title. The Spaniards have control over the new incorporations into the World Championship with a total of seven sailors: Neus Garriga, Eli Llargués, local sailor Elena Manera, Clara Mediñà, Tatiana Hettier, Andrea Arribas and Georgina Vilaplana. Among the men, Spain has awarded seven spots to Sergi Pérez, sailor from Club Nàutic L’Escala Gerard Marín, Oriol Vila, Aleix Subirà, Sven Stadel, Oscar Pijoan and Miquel Salazar.

They are all preparing themselves to compete in the Europe Class World Championship, which starts on Thursday the 19th and goes until Tuesday the 24th of July, with a total of 12 races programmed.   Until then, the Nations Cup is being held today and the inauguration ceremony of the regatta is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday the 18th of July at 7pm.
